Sea World of Ohio

In 1970, Sea World of Ohio opened in Aurora, Ohio. It was the smallest of the Sea World parks and was located on Geauga Lake. Water skiing shows occurred on the lake, entertaining hundreds of thousands of visitors each season. Shamu, a killer whale, performed for guests, and Sea World of Ohio also held dolphin shows. Hundreds of different types of sea animals, including various types of fish, sharks, and penguins, also were on display.

In 2001, Six Flags purchased Sea World of Ohio. Sea World sent many of its animals to other Sea World parks across the United States, but Six Flags continued to display some sea animals and birds. In 2004, Cedar Point purchased Six Flags, and most of the old Sea World park was closed.
