Carp

Carp (Cyprinus carpio) are one of the most well known fish in Ohio. They are a member of the minnow family and can be identified by their bronze-yellow coloring and two barbels on each side of the upper jaw.

Channel Catfish

Channel catfish (Ictalurus punctatus) are a very popular food and game fish in Ohio. Like other catfish, they are scaleless. Channel 'cats' are bluish-silver on top and a whitish color on the bottom half of their body.

Bluegill

Bluegills (Lepomis macrochirus) are members of the sunfish family. They have a small mouth, a high dorsal fin with a black dot, and a long, pointed pectoral fin. It also has five to nine vertical bars on its olive-colored sides and back.
