The Cleveland Fusion is a women’s professional football team from Cleveland, Ohio. The squad plays in the National Women’s Football Association (NWFA). This league formed in 2000, although its first regular season did not occur until 2001. The league is the largest and fastest growing women’s professional tackle football organization in the world.

The Fusion joined the NWFA for the 2002 season. In the team’s first two seasons, the squad finished with six wins and two losses each year, completing each season in second place in its respective division. During the 2004 season, the Fusion struggled, winning only three while losing five games, finishing fifth in its division. The next season, the squad achieved its third winning season with five wins and three losses.
