Brian Unger is an American humorist, writer and television producer.
Unger was born in Granville, Ohio. He graduated from Ohio University in Athens, Ohio, in 1987. He specialized in communication. While at Ohio University, Unger worked at the university's radio and television station, WOUB.
After graduation, Unger worked as an intern for David Letterman, a talk-show host with NBC. Unger left this position to produce Obstetrics & Gynecology Update for Lifetime Medical Television. He produced twenty-six episodes of this program. Unger then spent some time producing documentaries about veterans of military service.
Unger accepted a position as a producer on the Maury Povich Show. He went on to produce Eye to Eye on CBS. Unger later joined the creative team that devised Comedy Central's The Daily Show. His work as a correspondent and producer on this series led Entertainment Weekly to list him as one of the "100 Most Creative People in Entertainment" in 1998. Besides these programs, Unger also hosted or had guest appearances on several additional television shows.
In 2006, Unger appeared in Bushisms. He hosted the Fox TV Network's World's Craziest Videos. The humorist is also known for his reports on culture and politics each week on National Public Radio's "Day to Day."
