Cleveland Crunch

The Cleveland Crunch was a professional indoor soccer team from Cleveland, Ohio. The team originally played in the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL), which existed from 1978 to 1990. The league became the Major Soccer League in 1990, and it continued to operate under this name until 1992.

The Crunch joined the MISL after the Cleveland Force disbanded in 1988. The team won the Major Soccer League’s Eastern Division championship during the 1990-1991 season. Following the Major Soccer League’s collapse at the end of the 1991-1992 season, the Crunch joined the National Professional Soccer League (NPSL), where the squad won five straight division championships from 1995 to 2000. The Crunch also won the NPSL championship in the 1993-1994, 1994-1995, and the 1998-1999 seasons.

In 2001, the NPSL became the Major Indoor Soccer League (MISL). The Crunch remained in the league, but in 2002, owners of the team renamed the squad the Cleveland Force. Unfortunately, the Cleveland Force struggled financially and became an inactive team when the current owners could not find a purchaser for the team.
