The Iroquois Era is an historical designation used to mark the time period when the Iroquois group of American Indians claimed the land now known as Ohio. During the Beaver Wars, (1650-1700 A.D.) the Iroquois drove out most of the descendants of Ohio's other pre-contact Native American cultures.
