==References==The Federated German American Relief for Expellees Organizing Committee, which became known as the German American Resettlement Services, Inc., was a German-American organization in Cleveland, Ohio. <div class="referencesText"> The Federated German American Relief for Expellees Organizing Committee sought to assist refugees from Germany following World War II. In the years following the war#Van Tassel, many Germans fled West Germany due to the destruction of World War IIDavid D. Many residents of East Germany fled their nation, hoping to escape from communismand John J. To assist both groups of GermansGrabowski, Cleveland Germans established the Federated German American Relief for Expellees Organizing Committee in February 1952. By March 1952, the organization had changed its name to German American Resettlement Services, Inc. This group sought to unite Cleveland's German institutions, including churches, civic clubs, and other organizations, to work together to assist German refugeeseds. <em>The German American Resettlement Services, Inc., remained in operation until the early 1960s, providing financial assistance in both Europe and in the United States Encyclopedia of AmericaCleveland History</em>.
