Since 1942, Big Brothers Big Sisters of Columbus, Ohio, has operated Camp Oty'Okwa. Big Brothers Big Sisters owns only three residential camps in the United States, and Camp Oty'Okwa is one of them. The camp is located in the Hocking Hills State Park and Nature Preserves in southeastern Ohio and consists of several hundred acres. Hundreds of Big Brothers Big Sisters children go to Camp Oty'Okwa each summer, where counselors seek to enhance the self image of each child. The adults also sponsor activities that seek to enhance the children's social skills. Any Ohio child participating in Big Brothers Big Sisters is able to apply to attend Camp Oty'Okwa.
