{ The Centinel of the North-Western Territory was the first newspaper published in the Northwest Territory.

The paper was published in Cincinnati from November 9, 1793, to June 11, 1796. The publisher, William Maxwell, also published Maxwell's Code, the early legal code for the Northwest Territory. The Centinel of the North-Western Territory was an early attempt by settlers in the Northwest Territory to bring news and culture from the East to the frontier. [[Category:{$topic}]]
