In 1958, the Ursulines of Brown County established the Ursuline Teacher Training Institute. This Catholic institution was the predecessor of Chatfield College, a private, three-year college that offers Associate of Arts degrees. Chatfield College officially formed in 1971 in St. Martin, Ohio, and remains true to its Catholic beginnings still today. The college currently offers classes at several satellite locations primarily in the vicinity of Cincinnati, Ohio. Chatfield College is a not-for-profit institution, and thus, the college's tuition ranks among the lowest in the state.
