{ The Columbus Comets is a professional women's football team that plays in the National Women's Football Association (NWFA). The Comets joined the NWFA for the 2003 season as an expansion team. The squad has performed admirably in the league, achieving a winning record each season that the team has been in the NWFA. In 2003, the team won five and lost three games, and in the next season, the Comets won seven games and lost three. The team finished third in its division each of its first two seasons.
