Benjamin Franklin Gayman was Ohio's twelfth Secretary of Agriculture. The Secretary of Agriculture served as the head of the Ohio State Board of Agriculture.

Gayman was born in 1858, in Canal Winchester, Ohio. As a youth, he studied printing. Upon reaching adulthood, he purchased and worked as editor of the Canal Winchester Times. Gayman also actively participated in state government, serving as both a senator and representative in the Ohio General Assembly. Gayman also found employment as the lead clerk in the Ohio Dairy and Food Commission. In 1912, he became Ohio's Secretary of Agriculture, a position that he held until 1914. A member of the Masons, Gayman died at the Masonic Home in Springfield, Ohio in 1946.
