Mentor

Mentor was a Greek newspaper published in Cleveland, Ohio.
People of Greek heritage primarily began to migrate to the United States of America in the late 1800s. Cleveland had one of the largest Greek communities in Ohio. Hoping to maintain traditional Greek heritage and beliefs, in the 1930s, Mentor began publication. The editors published the news in the Greek language.
The paper ceased publication with World War II. Like many other Americans during the late 1800s and the early 1900s, the Greek immigrants viewed Ohio as a land of opportunity, but they also sought, as evidenced with Mentor, to maintain many aspects of their traditional culture.
