{ Following the terrorist attacks against the United States of America on September 11, 2001, President George W. Bush established the USA Freedom Corps. The Ohio Citizen Corps is a subsidiary of this organization. The Ohio government created this agency to protect the state from a terrorist attack as well as to coordinate response efforts if a terrorist incident occurred.
