Rodina, translated as The Family, was a Carpatho-Russian newspaper published in Cleveland, Ohio.
People of Carpatho-Russian heritage primarily began to migrate to the United States of America in the late 1800s. Cleveland had one of the largest Carpatho-Russian communities in Ohio. Hoping to maintain traditional Carpatho-Russian heritage and beliefs, in 1929, Rodina began publication. The editors published the news in the Russian language.
The paper remained in publication until 1940. Like many other Americans during the late 1800s and the early 1900s, the Carpatho-Russian immigrants viewed Ohio as a land of opportunity, but they also sought, as evidenced with Rodina, to maintain many aspects of their traditional culture.
