The Washington Cowboys was a semi-professional football team from Washington Court House, Ohio. The team was a founding member of and played in the Mid Eastern Football League. Established in 1994, the Cowboys emerged as the champion in the leagues first season. Over the next two seasons (1995 and 1996), the Cowboys failed to repeat as champions, but in its first three seasons, the squad amassed twenty-two wins and eight losses, including going undefeated in its championship season.
In 1997, the Cowboys joined the Northern Ohio League, a more prestigious, semi-professional football league. The team switched its name to the Courthouse Colts, bringing the Washington Cowboys brief history to an end.
