Youngstown State University (YSU) was established in 1908 in Youngstown, Ohio. In 2005, 13,101 students enrolled in the institution, including 1,298 graduate students. Students came from fifty-six different countries, and foreign students comprised thirteen percent of the student population. YSU also boasts a planetarium, a medical museum, and an art museum.
During the 1990s, Youngstown State University�s football team won more national championships than any other team in the United States during this same period. The team played in the NCAA Division 1-AA, and Jim Tressel was the coach for much of this period. YSU won the national championship in Division 1-AA in 1991, 1993, 1994, and 1997. The team was runner-up in both 1996 and 1999.
